Supporting Student Success Through Safe and Affordable Living

丝瓜视频 is committed to helping students reach their goals by providing access to safe, affordable, and supportive housing options that meet a variety of student needs.
IVC now offers two distinct housing opportunities:
  • The Lotus Living Tiny Home Community in El Centro, which supports students experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. 
  • The IVC Student Housing at SDSU Imperial Valley in Calexico, which offers modern, affordable apartments for students seeking convenient access to campus and nearby transit. 
Both housing communities provide an opportunity to belong, connect, and thrive, ensuring students have the stability they need to focus on their academic and personal success.

Inside/Out College Program

Lotus Living Tiny Home Community

Location: El Centro, CA
Best for: Students experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness
The Lotus Living: Rise Above Resilient Community opened in May 2021 as the first college-led tiny home community of its kind in the United States.
 
This innovative initiative was created through a partnership between the IVC Foundation, 丝瓜视频, and the City of El Centro, offering 26 tiny homes and 12 RV housing units to support students facing housing insecurity.
 
Residents participate in monthly workshops, contribute to community service, and receive wraparound support from IVC鈥檚 Basic Needs program to help them build long-term stability and success.
 
Lotus Living provides more than a place to live. It offers a path toward independence and achievement.
Inside/Out College Program

IVC Student Housing at SDSU Imperial Valley

Location: Calexico, CA
Best for: Students seeking affordable housing close to IVC and SDSU Imperial Valley campuses
Opening in Fall 2026, the new IVC Student Housing at SDSU Imperial Valley gives IVC students an opportunity to live within a shared community of SDSU and IVC residents.
 
This modern housing development, located directly across from the SDSU Imperial Valley campus, is a short five-minute walk from two Calexico-to-IVC Express bus stops, providing quick and affordable transportation to the Imperial campus.
 
Students benefit from comfortable apartment-style living, opportunities for collaboration, and early exposure to a four-year university environment while remaining close to home in the Imperial Valley.
