Embedded Tutor Program
he Embedded Tutoring Program (ETP) focuses on providing supplemental academic assistance
for students both inside and outside the classroom to increase student performance and retention.
An embedded tutor assigned to a class is there to:
- assist students during class time,
- provide review sessions outside of class time,
- clarify and encourage successful study habits for the whole class, and
- maintain constant communication with the instructor regarding class content.
Benefits of the Embedded Tutor Program:
- Immediate access to learning support services right before/after class. Students who otherwise would not feel comfortable seeking a tutor on their own are
now able to attend review sessions and receive the academic assistance they need.
- Students develop trust with embedded tutors through day-to-day interactions and feel
comfortable when surrounded by other students asking for help.
- Increased access to learning services and other resources offered by the college.
- Increased number of success and retention rates.
